Engage Markets Limited (trading as Press For Wine), company number 16032401, registered in England and Wales (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates pressforwine.com, a wine price comparison service. We act as the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
The short version: We only collect data we need to run the service. We do not sell your personal data to anyone. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
This policy applies to all visitors, registered users, and newsletter subscribers. By using our website you agree to the collection and use of data as described here.
Data We Collect
We collect data in two ways: information you provide directly, and information collected automatically when you use our site.

We do not collect payment card data. Any purchases made via retailer links are processed entirely by those retailers under their own privacy policies.
Launch list. If you join our launch list, we store your email address, any wine styles you pick, the time you gave consent and the exact wording you agreed to, and your browser’s user agent. We use this, with your consent, only to email you when Press For Wine launches and occasionally with a wine pick worth knowing about. To leave the list at any time, email cheers@pressforwine.com. When we launch, the list is either deleted or moved into our newsletter tool, where every email carries an unsubscribe link.
How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Provide and maintain your account and wishlist
- Send price drop alerts you have opted in to receive
- Deliver the Wine Press newsletter if you have subscribed
- Personalise wine recommendations based on your preferences
- Analyse site performance and improve our service
- Prevent fraud and protect the security of our platform

We will not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without your explicit consent.

Data Sharing

Retention
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it. Account data is retained for the life of your account plus 12 months after deletion, to resolve any outstanding queries or legal obligations. Analytics data is retained for 26 months in aggregate form.
Price alert and wishlist data is deleted immediately upon account deletion. Newsletter subscription data is removed within 30 days of unsubscription.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Restrict how we process your data in certain circumstances
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Portability of your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based

Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls limiting who can view personal data within our team.
No system is entirely without risk. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@pressforwine.com.
Children
Press For Wine is an alcohol-related service. It is not directed at anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the site after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
